Car hire in Scotland |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Scotland
. . . golf, fishing, shooting and placid
hilltop lakes and long, incredible vistas of mountains
and glens, as well a Glasgow and Edinburgh,
two of Britain's most civilised cities.
Scots have a long history
of resisting English pressure and were
finally squeezed into an act of union in 1707.
It's a hairshirt that never fit comfortably, ánd
in 2004, a Scots parliament was opened
for the first time since the 28th of April 1707.
Back in 1706 Scots passports
were cosigned by the French monarch and
had been since 1295, when a treaty of aid between
Scotland and France was signed.
It could be said Scots are the oldest European
citizens of Britain. |

Car hire in UK and more . . .
|
Scotland, then, has a broad
European cultural history running back to earliest
times.
It's not all bagpipes and kilts, but that is a fine thing
for a Gael, and so is a drop of Scotch whisky . . . even
if they do spell it wrong. So if you are following your
Scots heritage, use a hire car from one of our many outlets,
and our unique "quote and pick" system will ensure
you don't part with a ha'penny too much.
To sample it take your hire car and head out into
Scotland.
These links will take you to our Scottish
car rental locations. Pick up and drop off details
are on your booking confirmation . . .

How to get the best of Scotland highland and lowland.
Taking off from one of our eleven
main outlets in Scotland and heading into the countryside
is beginning of an exhilerating experience.
Transport won't be any problem
at all if you use our revolutionary "Quote and Pick"
system . . . simply hit the button for a quote anywhere
on these pages, then scan through the quotes from every
one of our suppliers in any given area, and pick the
best one for you. We have pick up points all over Scotland,
the rest of the UK and Ireland, and with more coming
on line all the time, we'll keep you moving.
Driving in Scotland is deceptive,
if you put a ruler on the map and measure all the
miles between points it will seem that distances
are short, but the climbing, turning, twisting
narrow and torturous nature of much of the rural road
system means you should leave a fair margin in
your guesstimate of times and fuel consumption.
Having a network of hire care providers
who can look after vehicle problems is important too,
and we have just such a network. |
